The Captain’s Dark Rum isn’t just any old seafarer’s grog.
To create the perfect dark rum to keep the Captain’s men going across the seven seas, Captain Morgan Dark Rum is aged for that heavenly oak finish, before being blended according to our very own secret recipe.
The smooth, rich and oaky taste of Captain Morgan Dark Rum makes it the perfect tipple to be drunk neat or moored on the rocks.
For a real rum punch, you can mix into one of the Captain’s favourite dark rum cocktails. Mix with ginger ale for a simple yet fiery concoction the Captain calls his Captain’s Storm or go all out and mix with Captain Morgan Coconut Rum and orange liqueur to create his marvellous Mai Tai.
Nothing quite resembles the Captain as much as his Captain Morgan Dark Rum. It’s rich just like the Captain after months at sea searching for buried treasure. It’s smooth just like the Captain when he lands on shore looking for a good time. And as is always the way with the Captain’s tipple it is perfectly balanced with a smoky finish.
Before dark rum hits the lips of a salty sea dog it’s aged first in charred oak or wooden barrels. The longer the rum is aged, the darker it becomes. The dark colour can also be down to molasses, burnt sugar or caramel being added for colour and flavour. Typical tasting notes include coffee, dark chocolate, caramel, and of course oak.
