Captain's Shandy

This old classic rum drink recipe was enjoyed by adventurous sailors in the 18th century and was traditionally just rum diluted in water sometimes with a squeeze of lemon.

Some versions of the drink consisted of rum mixed with lager to give it a sweeter and more refreshing taste. Like all the best cocktails, the Captain’s version features the delicious flavours of Captain Morgan Original Spiced Gold.

You can’t go wrong with this Original Spiced Gold drink if you add one measure first and then fill up your glass with three quarters lager and one quarter lemonade. Try swapping out Captain Morgan Original Spiced Gold for Captain Morgan Dark Rum for a darker but no less delicious tipple.

What you'll need.

For one serving

  • 25 mlCaptain Morgan Original Spiced Gold
  • 125 mlLager
  • 50 mlLeomonade
  • 1 Lime
  • 5 Ice cubes

Method

  1. Fill a tankard with ice cubes.

  2. Pour in the Captain Morgan Original Spiced Gold, lager and lemonade.

  3. Stir well!

  4. Add in a lime wedge. Down the hatch!
